Black Queer Female Activist: AUDRE LORDE Audre Lorde (1934- 1992) is an American-Caribbean writer, a radical feminist, a womanist (the term came up by Alice Walker to describe the feminism of black women) and an activist in the struggle for civil rights. Audre Lorde was born in New York, a family of Caribbean emigrants who settled in Harlem. Lord’s mother was a mulatto but could go white. They were very proud of this fact the family. The father was darker than the mother’s pa...rents wanted, and they were only allowed to marry thanks to his charm. Audre Lorde died on November 17, 1992. Unfortunately, colored people are too often discarded to the periphery both in the gay community and in society as a whole: the work of the whole life of Audrey Lord was a relentless protest against such a position. Audre Lorde is the greatest and loyal supporter of truth, whose role for the whole generation is that it helped him look at the world in a new way. That’s why Audre Lorde is included in this edition.

Ball participants are mainly young African-American and Latin American members of the LGBTQ community.... #HappyBlackHistoryMonth #UnitedandInclusive #BIPOCLove
