We’re wrapping up our launch week by introducing, last but most certainly not least, our Lead Technician, Lee Gauthier. . Lee grew up in Revelstoke, BC. Throughout high school, he wrote and recorded music and played with every musician he could find. He moved to Victoria in 2008 to study Music and Computer Science at the University of Victoria. He primarily focused on Digital Signal Processing, Music Information Retrieval, and Machine Learning. Since graduating, Lee worked at several Victoria startups before starting a career as a software developer at Bandcamp. Emily Mahbobi is Victoria-based pianist, composer, photographer, and music teacher who holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Victoria. She began participating in Quadratic Sound’s concert series in 2017, both as a performer and as a videographer. In 2018 Emily became a member of the keyboard faculty at the Victoria Conservatory of Music where she offers private lessons to piano students of all ages. In addition to her love of classical music, Emily has a pas...sion for music technology, and during her undergrad learned to play UVic’s famous Buchla synthesizer from her now-partners Jordie Shier and Lee Gauthier.
