Quantum Leaps Burnaby 16.11.2020

Introducing Martina Riessner one of our amazing guest presenters! Martina graduated from UBC in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. After working at Tetra Tech for four years she joined the Hatch tunneling group in 2018. Since then she has been working as part of the construction management team for the new outfall at Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in Delta, BC. She works on site full-time to review the construction progress and specification compliance for this technically challenging project.

Introducing Shannon Halliday one of our incredible guest presenters! Shannon Halliday is a clean technology and renewable energy focused business professional. She works for the Government of Quebec helping companies develop partnerships west of Quebec. She opened a regional office in Vancouver in 2018. ... Shannon has over 15 years of in-depth experience in renewable energy, hydrogen, fuel cells and transportation energy. She has worked for both government and industry in the areas of business development, government relations, project development and marketing. Shannon has extensive international business experience particularly in Europe and the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Geneva. Shannon is a nature lover, a photographer, an outdoor sports enthusiast and a passionate parent of an awesome 9 year old.

Introducing Sumreen Rattan one of our awesome guest presenters! Sumreen Rattan is a founder of Moment Technology Inc, a start-up striving to provide greater access to renewable and reliable power storage by re-purposing Electric Vehicle batteries. At SFU, she studied Mechatronic Systems Engineering and was a part of the Technology Entrepreneurship program. She discovered her penchant for mathematics and the applied sciences in high school and was inspired by her father to ...become an engineer. Sumreen is passionate about using technology and novel approaches to create solutions for real-world challenges. In her spare time she loves to swim, dance and play sports. Sumreen co-founded two student clubs at SFU, Team Phantom and SFU Befikre. Team Phantom is a student design team building a fully electric race car from scratch. SFU Befikre is a bollywood fusion dance team at Simon Fraser University. She worked in an 8-month internship at Apple in California and at technology companies in Vancouver including PNI Digital Media and Archiact Interactive.
