We've enjoyed ringing in the New Year with families for many years. Due to current public health orders we aren't able to gather together this year so we will not have any programming at the Centre today. We look forward to a time when we can safely celebrate together. Until then enjoy the outdoors with people in your household. The pond is open so families can go skating. Or try out tobogganing on Jimm's Hill. Everyone must maintain a separation of at least two metres from t...hose outside your household. At this time organized practices, games or outdoor sporting competitions of any kind are not permitted. It is the responsibility of everyone using the pond or toboggan hill to ensure they are in compliance with the public health orders. When we can once again gather together safely, we'll be ready with lots of fun activities. We wish you a safe and healthy 2021. The Quarry Park Heritage Arts Centre Staff See more

We are unable to gather together for our annual Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony which honours local residents who died in service to our country during the two World Wars. But that doesn't mean we have forgotten. Next time you are out for a walk at Quarry Park take a walk around the deck on the north and west sides of the building. You'll find stories of all 175 men. We will remember them. #CanadaRemembers

2020 marked the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. During the war more than one million Canadians, serving in the Canadian Army, the Royal Canadian Navy, the Royal Canadian Air Force and with other Allied Forces, fought on the battlefronts of the world. By the end of the war, Canada had one of the largest navies in the world, the fourth largest air force and an army of six divisions. It was for our freedom that they fought, and it was for that freedom that m...ore than 45,000 Canadians died and another 55,000 were wounded. We remember their sacrifice. Among those losing their lives during the war were: Walter Daniels John Esaruk Donald Colin McLeod Allan Reginald Neve Daniel Patrick Slator Michael I.
