Casual Friday with Gustavo Fring, nbd. Thanks to Geoffrey Blake for another inspiring installation of The Working Actor’s JourneyI’ve loved every week, but I was extra excited to spend some time with Giancarlo Esposito. Now it’s time to burn that midnight oil and crank out my Theatre by the Bay 24-Hour Playwriting Contest submission!

Oshun Update: Tragedy struck when our brave heroine suffered the loss of one of her beautiful plumes just one day after her coronation. The nation mourned for her sullied crown Then, thanks to some sacred water, her spirits lifted and she stood tall and proud. The next two days were marked with steady growth, energizing all of us Then, much to our collective devastation, another flower withered awayAll were sombre, until miraculously, the very next day, two buds bloomed an...d replaced the two fallen soldiers! Since then, her crown grew taller and fuller, and things were looking brightUnfortunately, last night marked yet another flower’s demiseSo in the end, week one was sadly bookended by loss, but there was glorious triumph along the way. Here’s hoping week two is equally action-packed!

This year’s Art Crawl acquisition! I guess with three pieces now in my possession, you could say I’m officially a collector of Anke Lex.I love the whimsy, magic, and divinely feminine power that her work successfully captures. Her colour is always bright, full, and vibrant, and her shape is balanced, yet perfectly asymmetrical. For me, it’s like when you’re dreaming of a fantastic new place and it all seems real, but also somehow skewed in some indescribable way just to re...mind you that you’re dreaming. I love that This bold, sassy planter is adorning my newly dubbed Woo-Woo Corner. While I’m by no means deep into New Age ideology, I must admit I have been dabbling into spiritualism and opening to the cosmos more than I ever have before.Best case scenario? I’m on the right track and will ascend to a whole new state of consciousnessCool. Worst case scenario? I spent some time learning something new and I dropped a few dollars on some trinkets that bring me joyAlso cool. The moral of the story: find joy when and where you can, and never turn down an opportunity to take home great art
