Hemmingford Archives, the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network (QAHN), and Brysonville Schoolhouse Revisited present a tribute to two of the Chateauguay Valley's most beloved dance orchestras: Rufus Fisher's Orchestra from the Hemmingford (Barrington) area and Wilson's Westernaires led by Ellis Wilson from the 1st Concession near Herdman (Brooklet). Archival recordings, old photographs, and interviews and stories with family and friends. And of course some live music! We will be joined by John Wilson and Connie McClintock of Brooklet playing some of the Westernaires best-loved pieces and Jean Merlin playing some of the classic country songs that also defined the barndance era in the Chateauguay Valley. We thank Canadian Heritage for their support.
