Remembrance Day Queen Elizabeth School will be having a virtual Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday, November 6. We are hoping to be able to share with families as well but are still working out the details and will let you know if you will have access. It is important that we, as Canadians, recognize the sacrifices made by so many. Whether or not you are able to view our ceremony, we hope you are able to take some time to reflect upon what Remembrance Day means to you and yo...ur family. At this time, we share a very memorable video of what it means to take the time to remember entitled Pittance of Time. We hope that you do take a minute to watch. Thank you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kX_3y3u5Uo
The Queen Elizabeth School SCC (School Community Council) held its very first meeting (virtually) of the school year this past Thursday. Updates were given on School Operations School Improvement Plans, a few housekeeping items, and then we finished with our Annual SCC Elections. We are very pleased to announce that Jackie Look will be returning as SCC Chair and Angie Payne will return as SCC Vice Chair. The School Community Council holds meetings once a month and encourages families to check one out in the future! Their next meeting date will be on Thursday, December 3rd. We hope to see you there!
Don't Forget to Wash Your Masks! As students wear their mask more and more, it is more important than ever to ensure they are clean. We encourage families to please wash student "cloth masks" whenever it gets dirty or at least daily. If using a washing machine:... -Include your mask with your regular laundry. -Use regular laundry detergent and the appropriate settings according to the fabric label. -If washing the masks by hand: -Wash your mask with tap water and laundry detergent or soap. -Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove detergent or soap. When drying your masks: -Dry your mask completely in a warm or hot dryer -If air drying, hang your mask in direct sunlight to dry completely. If you cannot hang it in direct sunlight, hang or lay it flat and let it dry completely NOTE: If students are wearing a disposable face mask, please throw it away after wearing it once. Thank you.
Movember is upon us! Prostate cancer. Testicular cancer. Poor mental health. These are some of the biggest health issues faced by men. Together, the men of QE School will be helping by tackling them face-first. Over the course of November, Mr. Korn, Mr. Mather and Mr. McIntosh will be growing a moustache every single day! That’s rightevery day for 30 days to support this very worthy cause!... But the support will not end there! Students will be encouraged to donate their quarters and loonies to wear their own moustache at school during the week of November 16th - 20th. As well, if you wish to make a personal donation, you may access the following links: Queen Elizabeth School https://movember.com/t/qe-school-lloydminster?mc=1 Mr. Korn https://movember.com/m/leskorn?mc=1 Mr. Mather https://movember.com/m/14088181?mc=1 Mr. McIntosh https://movember.com/m/14351836?mc=1 Well done QE School and thank you for supporting this very worthy cause that so many in Lloydminster support!

During a week when people dress up and pretend to be Superheroes, we would like to recognize our SUPER Caretaking and Facility staff who have been instrumental in keeping LPSD schools clean and safe. Thank you!
If you have previously chatted with Mrs. Smith regarding purchasing a yearbook for this past school year, please send your money ($20) to the school and she will be more than happy to send you a copy home! A wonderful keepsake for this very unique year! Or if you would still like to get your hands on one -- let the office know ASAP! Thank you!
We just wanted to take a moment to thank all the parents who donated "pre packaged" Halloween goodies for the school this past week. We have now taken the time to divide them all into individual bags so students will be bringing home some candy to munch on this Friday! Also a big thank you to the Lloydminster Superstore for donating all the bags to put the sweets in. Just a friendly reminder -- we are unable to accept homemade snacks at this time (eg. cookies / cupcakes / etc) for events such as Halloween or Birthdays. Sorry about that inconvenience. Otherwise -- thank you QE Community for always supporting the students and families of this great school!
Had our first EDU Breakout today! Great problem solving skills trying to undue all the locked locks on the boxes! Congrats students on a job well done!
Some local media footage from our bus driver appreciation event on Wednesday: https://www.youtube.com/watch and https://www.mylloydminsternow.com//queen-elizabeth-studen/ and https://lloydconnect.net//bus-drivers-appreciated-at-q-e-/
On behalf of the entire QE Community- we say thank you to all bus drivers who ensure students arrive and return home safely every single day! As well, thank you for being that first person they see each day with a smile on your face as it means so much to the students. Just a few pics from today’s parade to salut the bus drivers!
Thank you to all the bus drivers from various School Divisions who keep our students safe and sound every single day!
Shhhh! One of our QE teachers (Mrs. Phipps..shhhh!) bought her classroom a new "tech toy"! A digital microscope! Of course --she had to play around with it before she tried it out with her grade 4 students! Don't worry -- her class will get to try it out very soon! She even said she might let other students in the school use it as well! LOL! Try and figure out which image belongs to which word descriptor. Pen; Marker; Lady bug; hair; sweater.
