Thank you to Brian and Kathy Whitfield for donating their blue spruce to us for the 2018 Queen's Square Christmas Tree.
I would like to thank Brian and Kathy Whitfield for donating their blue spruce and the companies and crews that donate their time and equipment to make this happen. Heroes of the community!

The search begins for a tree for this year. If you have one that you would like to donate please email [email protected].
Ta da....we bring you the 2016 tree and lighting. Huge kudos go to Ingold Tree Service and Eric who is simply the best at stringing lights, Ayr Crane and his awesome operator, Cheyenne, Sousa Concrete, The Downton Cambridge BIA and Andrea who knows how to get things done and me, Ken Carnahan and his amazing partner, Trish Barron for the multiple hours dedicated to the lighting and coordination! Thank you all so much!!! Merry Christmas, everyone! Enjoy!!!
The tree will be installed on Wednesday, November 30th, 2016, at 9:00am. if you are able to come down and watch. Seeing the tree hoisted in the air on the cable of a crane is truly something to see. Please remain a safe distance as safety is taken very seriously. There is a lighting ceremony on Friday, December 2nd, at 6pm with Carollers, Hot Chocolate and Apple CIder. Until then the lights will remain off. Please come join in the activities and witness first hand the lighting of the tree on Friday night!
The new lights are ready for the trees. Need to make sure the Christmas tree is ready to go, the contractors are still volunteering their invaluable time and equipment, road closure permits, police escort and the rest of the minor details that makes Christmas arrive in Queens Square.
This is what $8000 dollars of new LED lighting looks like still in the box. Thanks to Shear Displays of Cambridge, we were very fortunate that they sold us the lights at their cost of $5000. Kudos to them. If you are looking for some first class displays please check them out! Wait, watch for and get excited about new lighting for this years tree! I can't wait!!! Woot
Our tradition at Thanksgiving is sorting the thousands of feet of lights that adorn Queen's Square at Christmas! These lovely ladies sure make it more enjoyable and less time consuming. :)

We have set the date for the tree installation for November 19 with a rain date of Friday the 20th. The tree usually arrives to Queens Square between 9am and 10am. If you haven't ever seen a tree fly, come on down and make some noise. :)
We have been interviewing prospective trees to grace Queens Square this holiday season! We will find a perfect specimen! Stay tuned for more news and pics...
A few more pics from Saturday's Christmas Tree lighting on Queen's Square in Cambridge. The tree is exceptionally beautiful this year, its shape and size and all the lights make the Square look very special. Thanks to everyone involved for making it happen again! The only think missing is the snow... Make sure to visit after dusk and enjoy the festive view!
