Now that the matchups are set and y'all can finally make your team without guessing who's pl...aying who, we'll start taking your picks! What we need from you is a shared spreadsheet (excel or google) that looks like the picture I have below (obviously this is not a legit team we can use). We'll also need your $10 buy-in. Both these things should be sent to [email protected] before 2pm tomorrow (August 11th) and you're officially in the pool! Start spreading the word with some buddies to get that prize pool as big as it can be (you don't need to go to Queens to participate). We finally get to watch some playoff hockey and may the best team win!

QDAA is hosting its very first QDAA Invitational fantasy hockey pool. We are extremely excited to announce the first running of the event and we are excited to put our battle tested model to work against the best you have to offer! You have the rare opportunity to act like a GM and build the most competitive roster to compete with the savviest hockey brains Queen’s has to offer. With a minimum of 30% of the pot and bragging rights going to the winner, this is a competition yo...u are going to want to win! Over half the total pot is being distributed to competitors in addition to prizes being given out during the competition. In fact, we are so confident that our carefully refined and thoroughly tested model will end the playoffs on top, we will offer an additional 5% of the pot to be shared by any entries that beat our model! Jeff Lui is currently a director of artificial intelligence in Deloitte’s Applied Innovations Practice. His current role has Jeff spearheading Deloitte’s EmotionPlus Platform, which uses machine learning to predict emotions and sentiment, and determine predictive recommendations based on data science. He also helps companies with their transformational AI journey, particularly at the intersection of IQ and EQ. Prior to Deloitte, Jeff spent 4 years working at Google on their People & AI Team, both in Toronto and at GooglePlex in Mountain View, where he helped Google transform from a traditional tech organization into one that is now fully driven by data science. The webinar series will consist of industry professionals and Queen’s faculty staff presenting you with insightful topics in the data analytics industry. The presenters will speak about their experience in the industry as well as provide advice on how to get started in the Data Analytics field. During the webinar, you will get an opportunity to ask questions at the end.... Our first webinar is: Intro to Data Analytics at Google and BCG. Our first presenter, Eugene Hayden, will be speaking about his experience working at Google Analytics as well as analytics at BCG. From his experience at Google, he will give you can overview of what analytics at the company looks like and speak about how the company leverages big data to make strategic decisions. He will also go over how data analytics is used to make client decisions for consulting firms such as BCG.
