An announcement about staffing changes at Queens Avenue United. Please drop us a line and welcome Chris .
On Sunday, November 8, in worship we begin a sermon series on The Disciples' Prayer as we remember those who lost their lives protecting and preserving the idea of freedom. This prayer is a cornerstone of our practice. And on Remembrance Sundays it reminds us that we must be kin-dom people with each other now, especially now, if we ever hope for it's coming. Check it out. https://youtu.be/DjSmMSwBRIU
All Saints Day at Queens Avenue United; the final installment in Practice Makes Powerful. We meet a modern day saint - Nan Maria of Santa Lucia in Guatemala. I hope you are inspired with how she teaches us gratitude.
The watch party needs to have a Facebook video. So head on over to YouTube https://youtu.be/ANzkvl5TISw Or click right here. Bring your communion elements
Pretty thrilled. The new Transformation Team met for the first time today. The centre piece was about an inclusive gospel. Our work begins. "May we be enthralled by what we become."
September 30 is Orange Shirt day all over the world. At Queens Avenue United we take seriously the TRC Calls to Action for the churches: to develop ongoing education strategies to ensure that their respective congregations learn about their church’s role in colonization, the history and legacy of residential schools, and why apologies to former residential school students, their families, and... communities were necessary. So on Wednesday be out, be orange and say yes to taking more steps toward reconciliation.
Worship Sunday, September 27. Third and final in the series "Who is my Neighbour?". Check it out. https://youtu.be/MWV7ip8PiEc
The sermon series "Who is my Neighbour?" Continues this week at the feet of Jesus. We wonder who he calls his friends. Check it out.
Doors wide open in vigil this morning. Thinking of first responders and those needing to be held in grace.
If you need a quiet place to be, held in grace after watching fire at Pier Park, Queens Church will be open for prayer at 10 am. I will meet you.
Who is My Neighbour? We launch a new sermon series as we discern our call to be church in this time. https://youtu.be/44-vhIoWQR4 Watch for when we switch our carrier directly to YouTube. We will have a live chat feature where you can greet one another, pass Christ's and know we are worshipping together. Likely October 4. World wide communion.
Worship Sunday, September 6. The final segment in the series "Being God's House". Being at a conversation that never ends, is the church that freely allows its own evolution, freely gives itself to its own transformation. https://youtu.be/nBhsfHsE7xo I'd welcome your feedback. What word from God do you need to hear in the engagement of the Holy Scriptures?
Seriously inviting everyone into contemplation. How shall we support the spiritual life of New Westminster?
