Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) Tech Talks 2020/21 presents: "Under the WW1 battlefield Geotechnical stability assessment at the Vimy Ridge Memorial Site, France" November 11, 2020 - 12:58 to 2:00 EST... Vimy Ridge is the site of the Canadian National memorial monument in France. Ground subsidence into WW1 underground workings threatened public safety, and site stability during restoration work on the memorial. The talk summarizes geotechnical site investigation and risk assessment completed, considering the engineering geology of the chalk and the impact of the WW1 battles. Presented by: Dr. D.
