The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) advises that the Government of Belize has taken a decision that travelers entering the country are no longer required to download and complete the Belize Travel Health App prior to arrival in Belize. This recent adjustment to Belize’s COVID-19 Prevention Regulations is outlined in Statutory Instrument No.51 of 2021. Belize still requires that travelers provide either proof of full COVID-19 immunization received at least 2 weeks prior to arriva...l, or a negative COVID-19 PCR TEST taken within 96 hours of travel, or a negative rapid test (Rapid Antigen, Sofia, SD Biosensor, and ABBOTT) taken within 48 hours of travel. In addition, international tourists must book at a Gold Standard hotel and present confirmation at immigration. For up-to-date information on the destination’s travel protocols and frequently asked questions, please visit https://www.travelbelize.org/health-safety.

CTC RE-OPENS AFTER THOROUGH SANITIZATION The Corozal Town Council hereby informs the public that its office re-opened as of 9:00AM this morning, following the t...horough sanitization of the building carried out on Wednesday, November 4th. The immediate closure was prompted when two Traffic Wardens tested positive for COVID19. Upon showing symptoms of the flu 11 days ago, they were required to take the appropriate test and remain on quarantine at home pending their results. When those results returned positive on Tuesday, November 3rd, the Council, in consultation with health authorities, decided to close immediately and conduct the necessary sanitization as a precautionary measure. A third traffic warden also tested positive previously, but at the time of testing was already off-duty for several days. We maintain close contact with all our employees and can report that they are no longer showing symptoms and are recovering. Health authorities have recommended that the two recently tested employees remain on fourteen additional isolation days. The Council will reinforce the strict measures implemented since the onset of the pandemic to ensure the safety of our employees and the visiting public. These include: the washing of hands with soap/use of hand sanitizers and the checking of temperatures before entry, social distancing, and the mandatory wearing of facemasks. The public can be assured that the Council will continue to exercise every measure of caution to ensure everyone’s safety. We express gratitude to health authorities for their support and guidance in the sanitization effort. We are also grateful to the public for their understanding. End.
