Quesnel Curling Centre 22.06.2021

The QCC executive held a meeting tonight regarding the extension of Covid Regulations pertaining to sporting events in the province. This closure has been extended to Feb 28. In light of this ruling the decision was made that the Quesnel Curling Centre will close for the season effective Monday, February 8th 2021. There will be no sporting activities in the centre on or after that date. This includes all junior activities and any practices. Dave will be at the centre ...after that date to begin a orderly shutdown of the equipment. This decision was not made lightly and we are saddened that we could not complete the season. Everyone at the Curling Centre hopes that we are able to begin next fall with a full season of games and events. We will be in contact with each member via email with further information regarding this closure. Thank you for your understanding. See more

Craigs Table has opened their new restaurant across from the Seniors Centre! They are the folks that operate the Concession at the Quesnel Curling Centre. The Covid regulations and closures at QCC have severely affected their business here. We hope that this new venture will be successful. Craig will be open at the new Cariboo Hwy location from 7 AM to 3 PM for breakfast and lunch with breakfast served all day. 778-414-9050. Check it out!

My last post suggested that we had finalized our decision to close QCC if Covid regulations are extended or to extend the season if regulations are relaxed to allow adult curling. I stand corrected, as we will finalize any decision on the QCC opening or closing and the length of the remaining season at the Executive Meeting scheduled for February 5, after any announcement by the Health Minister. I apologize for any misunderstanding.

The Quesnel Curling Centre Executive Meeting was held today. Our Curling Centre will remain open under current Covid restrictions until February 4th. The Ministry of Health will be reviewing the current restrictions and closures on that date. Should the Ministry of Health extend the current restrictions for another month then the Quesnel Curling Centre will close for the season. If the restrictions are lifted to allow curling with the restrictions that were in place la...st fall then the QCC should be open for curling on Monday February 8th. The season will be extended an additional two weeks to the end of March should we open on February 8th. We have scheduled a Executive meeting for February 5th to finalize any decisions after the Ministry of Health makes its decision. Update will follow at that time. Currently the Quesnel Curling Centre remains open for Junior Curling and adult practice to February 4th. Every member is encouraged to use your Centre to throw a few rocks to keep in the game. The Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9 AM to Noon, 1 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. Each sheet is allowed two people on the ice. Just give Dave a call (250-992-5813) or email [email protected] to book some ice time. Grab another member or come down yourself and spend some time on the ice. See more

The Ministry of Health in BC has extended all restrictions to adult sports in British Columbia until February 4th. The Quesnel Curling Centre is forced to extend the current restrictions until further notice. Junior Curling and Adult Practice can continue at QCC as was outlined prior to the Christmas break. QCC executive will be meeting next week to discuss the implications of this extension and what actions we will take. We will keep you posted as this develops.
