What a life chapter for us! On May 23 we were bound for Marystown for a kitchen & washroom for Karls Mom. We banked on a timeline of 2-3 weeks.... seat belts w...ere soon fastened as Pandoras Box was busted wide. 22 structural posts & beams, lifted & dropped house to find level, replaced all sills, the four exterior walls, pulled out all windows & doors- siding, re-insulated, new plumbing, full vapour barrier for crawl space, cement board skirting, mortar, spray foam, interior: floor structure, new walls, gyproc, plaster, trim, paint, flooring, 60 amp to 200 amp electrical- home rewired, repaired & replaced HVAC, new water tank & relocated to crawl space, then... new washroom & kitchen. Famous line: Where is ....?- tools everywhere Barbecued hamburgers & hotdogs and Mary Browns were staples. From the onset of being Covid quarantined gathering supplies...Many a moment felt like the house was fighting us, like chiselling concrete with a spoon. It was pure perseverance & the following lifts of support moved us forward: Tremendous thanks to... Mel with the Richard Senior team - Electrical for meandering the chaos of muddy crawl space to sweaty attic and the workings of 7 people living under one roof. Chris Penny- Eavestrough- for understanding the importance of a great job! Wally Drake- Excavating- take the ball cap off yer head and put back The Farewells - offering a beautiful spot of respite while reconstructing plumbing Larry Mitchell- waste removal- top notch customer service! The crews at Alywards Home Hardware, & two Castle locations- very resourceful & kind folks! Neighbours: Brodericks, Moores, MacBeaths for the comfort of food & friendship John Edwards - memorable insight & wisdom of life experiences shared. Pius & Geraldine - breath of fresh air for our boat ride. .... As a family unit we have been tied to the reward of hard work. Our first covid 19 kitchen project complete with Monk Renovations! Maintaining Heath Canada’s guild lines, we just completed our first covid kitchen, using common sense we were able to keep our clients, and coworkers safe, everyone involved was amazing and respectful which made it possible. Who couldn’t use TWO ten foot islands, certainly helps with self distancing within the family. Ha... Ready for quartz, door panels on fridge and freezer. Inspired by Canadian Home Builders' Association Nova Scotias way back Wednesday post from the Peak awards Wed like to show off our award winning kitchen! ...It was a great team effort with Tower Interiors Ltd., Quest Kitchens and many substrates and suppliers. By removing the interior walls and totally redesigning the layout of the existing kitchen/mudroom and powder room, they were able to gain the extra space needed in the kitchen, more than doubling the size. The kitchen is no longer dysfunctional or single-use (cooking). There is now a dining area, leading to the new deck, new lounging area with TV and a play area for the 2 girls by the bay window. The kitchen is now bright and open, with the two (2) large patio doors & three (3) large windows for amazing natural light and allows the kitchen to continue into the back yard living and new deck space.

Recent Project with COVID - 19 safety measures in place - before & after
