There will be no increase in fees this year. We would like to keep things as cost effective and affordable as possible. Hopefully this way we will get more golfers out there this year than ever before!!! We also have a handful of spots in our cart shed at $50 for the year.
Do you keep track?
If you are ever in doubt as to what you should do, I recommend this handy flow chart to help you decide!!
A huge Thank You to the Quill Lake Rec Board!!! They have also donated to help build a mini golf course!!! We have a few ideas for what we will build out there. Again, our plan is to have a 10 hole mini golf course with some tables, perhaps a firepit, and lighting so that it can be used almost anytime by anyone. We now have enough to start!! Thanks again!!
The road into the course is like new again!! Thank you to the Village of Quill Lake and the "Town Guys" for doing this for us!!! It is a huge improvement!!!
We have been working to make the sand greens more like sand greens. We started a while ago by taking a harrow and busting up the concrete crust that was our "greens". Thank you to Jim Plasky for spending an afternoon driving in circles. We then spent numerous evenings raking and smoothing out the sand again. When they had smoothed out enough, we raked them again. And again. Part of keeping them not packed and soft is raking them. Our old rakes were falling apart. Thanks to Steve Martens for picking apart the old rakes and fixing them all up!!!
Thank you to Accent Credit Union for making up new score cards!!! Someone had mentioned the other night that the last of the old score cards were printed in the late 80s. We had the yardage measured a few years ago, so the new cards will reflect actual distances!!!
The dandelions have slowly taken over a good chunk of our course. As of today, that shouldn't be a problem anymore. Enough chemical was donated to cover the whole course. Thank you goes out to Lynn Macgillivray, Cory Nemeth, Gordon Olynick, and Dwayne Sokulski for donating the chemical!!! A huge thank you to Dwayne Sokulski for donating his sprayer and time to get this done!!!!!!
New flags are here!! Thank you to all the sponsors and everyone involved in getting these together!!
We run on an honor system to collect fees. These fees pay for upkeep and improvements. The last few years there has been a substantial increase in the amount of golfers using the course without paying. This equates to very little money to pay for basic things like grass cutting and weed spraying, but nothing extra. So, please pay your fees and let's try keep our little course going!!! Any Membership fees or questions, feel free to contact Cory Nemeth @ (306) 287-8103.
