We have received some new lines of fabric--one for the golf enthusiast--great to make a lap quilt of larger featuring tees, golf balls , golf clubs, carts and a great panel to go along with the fabrics Northcott has a couple of new Bold Beautiful Basics--a panel called Kaleidoscope and also yardage called Fractured Light--both can be made up into beautiful quilts... Wilmington presents with A Country Weekend--soft sages and coral pinks along with a panel for another great option--free pattern available which also can be made into larger size without much difficulty Also to follow up on some information from a couple of weeks ago French General --Jardin de Fleurs Quilt Along using Swoon Sixteen Pattern by Thimble Blossoms will begin June1 being hosted by My Wandering Path--this pattern will allow you to use many other fabrics along with the French General Hoping we have been able to inspire you Stay Safe and Happy Quilting!! Hello to All We have made it to September, and the leaves are beginning to change. Children are returning to education, be it in class or online. Hats off to all the educators and school support workers who have been working so hard to find ways to keep our younger generation safe and sound during these uncertain times and organizing the upcoming school year and to the bus drivers who will be transporting to and from school. Watch for the yellow buses on the roads as it ...has been sometime since we have seen them. We also as communities must remember to continue the safe practices of maintaining social distancing, wearing our masks and not going out if we are feeling unwell. Together we will get through COVID but we must follow the direction of our Public Health Units as they and all our medical teams continue also to work tirelessly through these times as safely as possible. In store we have just received Drawstring Mask Elastic in Black and White, along with Mask Nosebar Pieces. The Creative Grid Face Mask Template is also back in stock! This Saturday is National Jelly Roll day, Sept 19. For anyone who is unfamiliar with a Quilters Jelly Roll, it is fabrics which have been precut into 2 1/2" strips--they come in packages of varying sizes. Starting Tues Sept 15- Sat Sept 19 all Jelly Roll or 2 1/2" strips packages will be 10% off along with any of our Jelly Roll Patterns or Books. All sale items must be instock. Special orders do not qualify. Along with your Jelly Roll purchase you will receive one of the Moda Free Patterns which have been developed for the event. On Saturday we would like you to take a picture of yourself sewing and participating in National Jelly Roll Day and we will enter your name in a draw for a Gift Certificate to our store, we will also be sharing your picture on our Facebook Page Lets have some fun with it along with inspiring each other!! September has arrived!! We would like to thank all those who participated in the Quilters Quest Eastern Ontario Shop Hop and making it such great success. We will post the Grand Prize Winner and Second Place Winners when they are available.... The gift basket from Quilters Barn and Gifts was won by Joan Blois and for anyone who did not complete a ballot we took all the names from the Contact List over the 3 days to make sure everyone was included in case we missed giving a ballot to someone. This week we are returning to appointments and drop in by chance. Starting Tuesday, September 8, daily we will be booking appointments from 10-12 and then in afternoon we will be doing dropins as it went very well over the course of the Shop Hop. Hours Tuesday- Friday 9:30-4 and Saturdays 9:30-3 Doors will remain locked so please ring doorbell!! This allows us to continue to limit numbers in the store and maintain contact tracing for all. Everyone must continue to wear masks while in store and sanitize prior to entering store--debit and credit cards preferred. We want our clients, staff, family and community to remain as safe as possible. and feel safe while enjoying their visit. Quilters Barn and Gifts finished project for the Quilters Quest Shop Hop Aug 27,28 and 29. Using block kits from each participating store, we have created this beautiful lap size quilt, and an accent pillow to add to your decor. Have fun and let's all stay safe!

Quilters Quest Shop Hop Welcome to another bright shiny day--summer is quickly coming to an end. We are excited to be participating in the upcoming Quilters Quest Shop Hop which you are all invited to participate in. It runs from Thursday August 27 to Saturday August 29, 2020 Participating stores are Taylors Sewing Quilt Shop, Brockville... Quiltworks Studio, Brockville Giroux Sewing Centre, Cornwall Auntie Em's Scrapbooking and Quilting, Cornwall The Village Quilt Shop, Maxville and ourselves Quilters Barn and Gifts, Russell Visit each store and collect one block kit. We are each using the same block pattern, but we each have 4 different color variations in our blocks. We all used the same fabric line called Christmas Fig II by Moda. Each store has then assembled a finished project using the 6 different blocks you will have purchased along the way. You will also be able to purchase a finishing kit from the store to complete the project in the fashion you prefer. Each block kit will retail for $11.95. Finishing kits will vary in price. At each location you will also have your passport punched or stamped. Attached is a copy of the passport which you may print. Once the passport is completed (all six locations) you will leave the passport with the last store and your name will go into a draw for a chance to win the grand of a Janome Sewing machine or a basket of quilting goodies. Online purchase of the blocks is also available along with curbside pickup. Validation of the cards is only permitted during the shop hop. Late cards will not be accepted. Newsletter Update! Hi Everyone Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying healthy and safe as it continues to quickly pass by. Hard to believe we are almost the middle of August and fall will not be quite the normal hustle bustle with return to school as there are so many new protocols to follow and questions yet to be answered--we all need to remember we are all in it together and maintain the protocols that have been set up for everyone's safety. We continue to add... new products and lines to our online store--we are also excited to announce a few events coming up August 27-29 Quilters Quest Shop Hop--you will visit 6 shops to collect a different color variation kit at each location($11.95/kit)--all stores are using the fabric collection called Christmas Fig 2 by Moda--each store has a minimum of 4 different bolts in the collection. Each store has assembled a project using these 6 blocks. Extra fabric can be purchased for quilt assembly you prefer. Each quilter will have their passport punched or stamped at each store visited. Newsletter Update Hello to All, Hoping everyone is staying safe and healthy during these times of COVID and heat. Wearing masks, maintaining our social distancing and frequent hand washing will help us all during these unknown times as the quote goes "we are all in this together". I cannot believe where the month of July has gone--here we are in August already!!... We have had many new fabric arrivals in the last couple of weeks, and have been busy getting kits done up and fat quarter bundles, also more to arrive in the next few weeks. Please be patient as we are attempting to get them online as quickly as possible for you all to be inspired. We continue to be open by appointments and we will continue this method until further notice with the fluctuations of numbers of COVID. It is very important to us to keep your shopping experience as safe as possible and also for my staff, family, community and myself to remain as safe as possible. We have resumed being closed on Sunday and Mondays and you will find us in store Tuesday-Friday 9:30-4 and Saturdays 9:30-3 If these hours do not work for you to book an appointment, please feel free to contact us as I do book outside of these hours when necessary. There is no charge for booking an appointment, typically we are able to accommodate within 24-48 hours. Just a quick hello to everyone Hoping you are all staying safe, and enjoying the sunshine I can't believe we are in July already, where has this year gone. Considering all the uncertainties it has brought with it, it seems to be passing us by very quickly. We continue to be open by appointments and drop ins when possible, but are looking towards opening our doors for a few hours each day. This being said we will also be maintaining appointments for private shopping for tho...se that prefer available each day as well. We are assessing this on a regular basis--our goal is to continue to go forward and not have to go back. We greatly appreciate everyone's support and patience as we work through these changes An update for mask supplies for all--we have the Face Mask template by Creative Grids back in stock along with both 1/4" white and 1/4" black flat elastic along with many fabrics to make your own designer masks. Other new arrivals include the following pictures. And since we are in July, what comes to mind but Christmas. Fabrics are arriving on a regular basis now. Each week in July we will post a different line to inspire you for the upcoming holiday season.
