Every quilt tells a story. That's always been one of my favourite things about quilting. This quilt was made in 1928 and means so much to my customer. Swipe over to the last photo, to see the "before". Nearly the entire perimeter of the quilt was falling apart (the binding is typically the part of a quilt that gets worn out first) A sign of a truly loved quilt! I was able to match the yellow almost perfectly to what was originally there. A gorgeous new binding, hand stit...ched with love & care. This is definitely one of the most fun & creative custom orders I've ever done! It was really fun hunting for and collecting all the little bits and seeing how I could put them together into something visually appealing for a child! For those unfamiliar, busy books/quiet books are becoming more and more popular. They're excellent for practicing hand-eye coordination, developing fine-motor skills, learning "practical skills" (zippers, buckles etc), colour-matching, counting & ...so much more. This was such a pleasure to make and I'm so happy with the outcome .
