Anyone out there (besides me!) ever have a perfect plan completely unravel? I can remember like yesterday the six months of work I put into building out my workflow platform for my team. It would have been a home run, if not for my lack of planning (Yes! I admit.... I am NOT perfect!) The good news is we were able to pivot before it was too late. Who else ever watched their best laid plans go completely off the rails? Spill the tea!

I realized something today. After 28 years of working in the accounting industry, I realized why I work.... and so diligently. More specifically, I realized WHO I work so diligently for. I work for the mom and pop shop down the street. I work for the small Non profit that is looking to understand how to move past COVID. I work for the small business owner that cannot afford to pay our fees but cannot afford not too. It is truly an honour to be able to work with the hopes of making a difference in their world, in our community. What about you, friend? Who do you work for?

How do you know it’s been a REALLY good day? You're probably aware by now, I’m an accounting professional that has a found a flair for teaching and for coaching. I’ve been doing it in some form or fashion since I took my first accounting class at the age of 13. I know it’s what I was made for because: I have a passion for what I do... it's NOT a job,... I celebrate the successes of my colleagues, and my business community, and I'm able to help be change in my community. There is nothing more gratifying in my line of work than seeing my students reach and surpass their own goals. I cannot tell you how much that means to me. If I lie down at night and know I’ve taken even the tiniest step toward making that happen I am sleeping like a baby. I know that I have done what I was put on this year to do.
