Level 2 students played handball with their robots last week. Students programmed their robots to move their servo motor between two positions to hit the ball. Through trial and error, students found the positions they were most comfortable with!
QY Labs will be holding a strike day camp this Monday, October 7th if a strike occurs in public schools. The camp will be held as long as the strike persists. If you are interested or would like to register send us a message! **If the strike does not happen or is cancelled, we will not hold the camp**
Level 3s are testing their Spikebots on various materials. It’s 600rpm motors spin fast enough to cut through this aluminum foil (the blades are not sharp and are student friendly)!
VEX class students are using one stick drive for the first time! With practice, completing figure 8s will be much easier.
Our level 2s have completed their first robots. They are testing out how well their tracks can overcome obstacles!

Friday’s LEVEL 2 Microbot class is using their new parts for the first time! For the next two classes we will be exploring the use of caterpillar tracks vs. wheels.
Today is our first day of classes for Fall 2019! Here are some things your child should bring for their first class of the semester: - A water bottle! - If your child is enrolled in a LEVEL 2, 3, or 4 Microbot class should bring ALL parts they have received in previous levels. ... - If your child is enrolled in GAME DESIGN they should bring a laptop that runs windows. - If you child is enrolled in LEVEL 1 Microbot they will be receiving their pieces on the first class. Tool boxes are available for $10.
Tuesday’s bowling challenge!
Today’s challenge was to create a robot that stays within the shapes made by black tape. Check out a camper’s creative use of an IR sensor to complete the challenge!
