First travel experience since March. Leaving for Cancun from Toronto Pearson Airport. I miss travel, the airports, the sense of adventure, but this is so different - Travel is not the same as it was. But it is still possible. You must be prepared to travel safe and be respectful of others, be flexible and realize travel is not the same as it was.... The airport hotels have very few open facilities and airports have very limited services open. In-flight services are limited too. But the reality is for some, as time goes on, we ARE going to travel again. I feel everyone has their own risk tolerance which must be factored in their decision as to when. I can’t predict what will happen with this virus and I don't believe it is going to disappear anytime soon. However, we need to learn to live with it as safe as we can like any other virus or illness. Cancun officially reopened for tourism on June 8th, but at limited capacity. So travel is possible. However, it is more work and effort. There may be additional costs (eg. Covid tests and covid insurance). Yes medical COVID insurance is now available!! But, there are additional risks and the comforts may not be the same as before. Yet, if you want to travel you can. It is a personal call on when you feel comfortable in doing so and how strong is your desire to travel. Only YOU can make that choice and it is not up to me to convince you to travel. But I do want you to know the tourist areas of Mexico and the locals are ready for your visit when you are. Very impressive new outdoor kids play area. Nothing too expansive, just the right size with multiple fun wet & dry entertaining areas to keep the niños busy.
