Missing our RR community and forest time together so much. But also special times like stories and snack. So we recorded the collective favourite book to be enjoyed at home. Katie and SharkMan5000 (age 9) present read-aloud, "Dog in Charge". Listen at: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/379585116
Behold! Snow Mountain 2020 From its majestic peaks, the kids have perfected the body slide slaolm. Us leaders tried it out too, and can say it sure looked scary from the top (such a steep start!) but was fast fluffy fun coming down. #thisisafterschool
Conifer camp - group-made mini-camp, dug out forts, a snowball store, and the final resting place of Treefield Stickerson (an accidentally felled dead tree trunk; the kids have a plan to return in the Spring and plant 12 tree seeds around the grave in Mr. Stickerson’s honour).
Even in 4 degree, down-pour raining, see-your-breath kind of weather, there’s a whole lot of fun to be had with 40 minutes in the forest! Fort building, shelter digging, snow people weddings (Bob and Auriana live again, their love is a timeless one). #thisisafterschool #playoutside #goodweatherwithgoodgear
Crafts, stories, costumes, art, games and bands... we love our forest play, but indoor times are pretty great too #thisisafterschool #letitsnow
