For those few people who have not tried our Savage Sliders, here are a couple of close ups to check out. One slice of our famous thick cut Peameal, one egg, one slice of Canadian cheese, a drizzle of our own Savage sauce, all on a butter grilled English muffin. Came up with this when I was going on a road trip to watch our Oshawa Generals win the the Memorial Cup in Quebec City a few years back. Needed some 'one handed food' for the car! The Gens won and I got a great item for our menu! Come to think of it I should change the name of them to the Gennies!! What do you think?!

Check this out!! Due to government restrictions and Durham region entering the Red zone due to the Covid 19 pandemic the Rainbow Restaurant will now have to enact the following: -as before you must have a mask on when entering and when away from your table... -we are now only allowed 10 dine-in people at any one time -only 4 people at a table -our take-out and delivery business will be unaffected. I know this will be frustrating, but this is what has been mandated to us in the restaurant industry, so please be polite and understanding to your servers when they ask you to wait outside until something opens up. We are all in this together and that is the only way we'll get through this.

The Corral was my 'second home' for many, many years. Had many a fun evenings there. I met my wife there. It holds so many happy memories for me. It is a horrible day for Oshawa. The Corral was the preeminent live entertainment location for east of Toronto. It cannot be replaced. So sorry for the owners who these unfortunate circumstances of the time decimated their business. ... .......... Now a fun story about the Corral! Many years ago the great band Ambush was playing the Corral for their Halloween party. The band always ate at the Rainbow when they were in town so that day before the party Mark McDonell (the lead singer of Ambush) asked if he could borrow a chef's uniform from me to wear as a costume while on stage at the party. Of course I obliged him. So that evening I went to the Corral in my Ninja costume and what do I see on stage??? Mark of Ambush singing his lungs out but dressed as ME! Full chef's outfit but with a painted on goatee and name tag on his lapel saying Chef Louie!! And at the end of every song that evening the band shouted in unison 'Rainbow Rocks!!' Best. Party. Ever.
