Rainbows End Metal Detecting Association 16.11.2020

A few members gathered for an outdoor meeting. Since the Legion in Stoney Creek is currently closed, we decided it would be nice if we could find an outdoor venue where we could hold our meetings. We chose Dundas Driving Park in one of the pavillions. This is our second meeting here (first one was in August). Some came early and detected the grassy areas. We talked about current events and what we have been doing with metal detecting during the pandemic. We are hoping to have more members show up for the October 3rd meeting at Eugene & Janet's place, where we will also be holding a club hunt with a bit of silver and some prizes. (See the REMDA site for more details)

NOTICE FROM THE SOUTHERN ONTARIO BEACH HUNT COMMITTEE The committee has decided to cancel the 2020 SOBH altogether. There will not be a hunt in September 2020. The plan is to resume our annual hunt in May 2021 so please look for our flyer coming out next year.... If you have already paid your fees for 2020, they will be kept to use in May 2021 unless you request a refund. Most of you have already asked me to keep your fees. 50/50 tickets will continue to be sold with the draw taking place in May 2021 at the hunt. Please keep selling and make this draw the biggest yet. Gerry Mros will continue to take your money and ticket stubs.

It is with profound sadness, the REMDA Executive announce the passing of Ron Found, beloved husband of Brenda Found, who passed away Wednesday, January 15th, 2020. Ron was a long time member of REMDA, best known for his active participation in the annual South Ontario Beach Hunt, seeding the fields, plus storing and tagging all the prizes. Over the years, Ron built the beautiful display boxes that we use in the hunt. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Stonehouse-Whitcom...b Chapel, 11 Mountain Street, Grimsby. Visitation is Friday, Jan 17 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service is Saturday, Jan 18 at 10:30. Further details can be found at https://www.smithsfh.com//ronald-found/4076089/obituary.php Our thoughts go out to Brenda at this sad time. Thanks, Cynthia
