First day in the shop for 2021. Going to do a quick cleaning and then fire up the forge.

In this video, I show the process of making damascus for a custom Nessmuk knife. #knifemaker #bladesmith #Manitoba #Winnipeg #comedy

I seriously love the Nessmuk blade shape. The belly like and the line of the spine just does it for me. This one is totally wild with Bokote, copper and deer antler in the handle. The blade is a combination of 15n20 and 1084, acid and then coffee etched. Merry Christmas, Matt!

In November, Lilly reached out and asked me to reproduce a knife that I had made a year ago. I was told that that it had a pink handle. I knew right away which knife it was and I thought it would be a quick build because I had an extra blade that matched the original, but it wasn't quite right...It's the reason it was "the extra" blade. I updated the blade design and made it out of A2. The handle is stabilized Manitoba Maple burl. Handle design inspired by Trevor Rideout (check out his stuff...amazeballs)

So many things learnt to make this beauty. But alas, it’s gone and now in the hands of a good friend. I’ll get to see this #s35vn blade age and try to keep up to the rigours of an avid hunter and outdoorsman. The handle is Manitoba maple and padauk and was designed to be coloured opposite of the Canadian flag . The @remingtonarmscompany shells were special to the owner as well.
