This lovely play, loosely based on actor and playwright Gabrielle Soskin's life, recalls the time at age 50 when she began taking piano lessons, took them serio...usly, and reached grade 10 level at the McGill Conservatory. She was 73 when she took the last exam! There was this sort of longing to find expressivity through a musical instrument. I found it on the stage, as an actor, but there was something else that I wanted to do, and, as it turns out in the play, it was the piano.

Our GoFundMe campaign is still going, and we desperately need support to restore and update our gorgeous-but-faded theatre marquee! Besides donations to the cause, another way you can support the Royal is to come out to our shows! :-D "Souvenir" is a delightful comedy, sure to please everyone! See you at the Royal, the Theatre You Make Possible!

I just had the great pleasure of performing my musical Bring The Piano for 5 shows at the Royal Theatre Thousand Islands in Gananoque, Ontario. The theatre is t...he brainchild of 2 amazing guys, Frayne McCarthy and Kevin John Saylor, who bought this 1930 vaudeville house and are restoring it to its original glory. This is not your usual kind of theatre company - this is two guys who have spent their careers in the theatre and are now devoting all their time and energy to this unbelievable project. They have put together an amazing schedule of performances for their first season - every show is worth a visit. Please share the word with your friends that if you are anywhere near the Kingston/Gananoque/Brockville area, the Royal Theatre is a must see. Help support this amazing project and these two terrific artists. See more
