I last flew into our local airport in February 2020, and stated I'd continue to use our airport. Tge airport has potential for growth if members of the community use it and show airlines that there is demand for service to Dawson Creek. WestJet has postponed the launch date until at least January 2021. If you have something that you'd like to see improved, feel free to send a message and we'll arrange a time to meet for coffee. I'd love to meet with as many people as I can over the next two years before the 2022 Municipal General Election
So the Provincial Election is on October 24th and many people will most likely be voting at the Encana Center. In past elections the City would be providing free public transportation and I doubt the city would provide anything for the upcoming by-election and Provincial elections
Getting out and supporting local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic
Thought I'd share an update; I've been asked a few times on er the past few days why my name isn't among those names in the by-election this October. The fact of the matter with everything going on with COVID-19 and preparation for the upcoming speed skating season I got side tracked and completely missed the nomination period. Rest assured I'm doing my very best to keep the support building leading up to the 2022 General Election where we hope to save our transit system f...rom the city's watch!! Love you all & appreciate your support. Lets keep this momentum going as we work together to get on board for 2022. I'll be updating the page name in the next few days. ~ Raistlin van Spronsen, City Council Candidate for 2020 (now 2022)
An accessible public transportation system is one thing a community should have to attract qnd retain residents. To call Dawson Creek's bus system 'accessible to all is an understatement. There's nothing on Saturdays or between 10am and 2pm. It makes it extremely difficult for people who work to get errands done and will cost more by using taxis instead of the bus. . . . I am hereby going to be holding our City Council accountable for these cuts. They have no idea how its impacting their own residents because they don't use the bus on a daily basis. Its why I'm calling on Mayor Dale Bumstead & the entire City Council to use the bus as their primary mode of transportation for the remainder of 2020! #transitadvocate
If there's something you'd like to see done if I am elected in as a Councilor, feel free to let me know. One of my priorities is our transit system
