The Ramsay Community Clean-up is coming soon! Saturday, May 21st from 9AM to 2PM to be exact. Location of the event is the CalgaryBridge Centre (Old Community Hall site) at 1140 8th St S.E. This is a great opportunity, sponsored by the city of Calgary and the Ramsay Community Association, to clean-up your yard, back alley, and house/garage of unwanted trash and items to donate and/swap. ... A few important points: 1. There are certain items we cannot take:* Tires * household chemicals * home appliances *propane tanks * glass * paint * liquids * railroad ties 2. We have metals and electronics recycling, and used car batteries are accepted. There is no organics trucks this year. If you have a lot of organics the city has the spring clean-up program from April 18th to May 29th, and you can take the organics to the landfill site. Check for information on that program on the City website: https://www.calgary.ca/waste/drop-off/yard-waste.html 3. Open loads need to be tarped 4. Please note that provincial regulations due to COVID-19 are in effect at all Community Cleanups. Please visit https://www.alberta.ca/coronavirus-info-for-albertans.aspx for the latest COVID-19 provincial regulations. 5. We are providing a pick-up service. If interested, please email [email protected] and provide your address, cell number, and description of items to be picked up, as well as a preferred time. 6. We are looking for volunteers. These will be approximately 3-hour commitments, with all personal protective equipment provided (vests, safety glasses, gloves). Let me know if you are interested in the following positions: Free/swap store; Traffic control; Compactor truck/recycling unloading; Pick-up- if you can bring a truck to help even better! 7. Food and beverages will be provided for all volunteers at no charge 8. More questions on what can and cannot be accepted? Please visit the City of Calgary Website: https://www.calgary.ca//partnershi/community-cleanups.html
