Every time we bring out the warming tray for melting crayons art it’s a hit with the kids. They love to experiment and see ( and even smell!) how the crayons melt. Afterwards we take a print onto paper and marvel at the art we created It‘s art - it’s science - it’s playbased learning at its best!

Our little scientists explored rain clouds. How much rain (watercolours) can the cloud (shaving cream) hold before it starts raining? Such a fun and educational experiment!

Introducing our staff: Meet our manager Vicky, Vicky was born in England, but lived in Canada since she was very little. She earned her school aged child care certification when she started at RPKP in 1997. She says that she loves working with children because they are so creative, imaginative and they bring something new to the program every day. Being the manager at RPKP over the past 23 years has been the best job in the world!... Vicky is married and has 2 children ages 16 & 18 and they also work at Kids Place. According to Vicky, Ranch Park Kids Place is truly a family business where we want both the children and staff to feel comfortable and welcome. Ethan graduated from high school last year and is now enrolled in the Engineering program at Douglas College.... Registration is open for September 2020! We have spaces in our preschool program (3 and 4 year old) and our group care program (3-5 year old). For preschool you can choose between 2 days (Tue/Thu), 3 days (Mo/Wed/Fri) or all 5 days from 9.15 am to 11.45 am. Our group care program runs from 6.45 am to 6 pm.... Introducing our teachers: Meet teacher Claudia, Claudia is one of our preschool teachers working with the 3 year old preschool class. She will be teaching the 4 year old class coming September as well. Claudia moved from Germany to Canada in 2009. Since she couldn't transfer her teacher degree, Claudia started taking ECE courses and finished her ECE certificate in 2014. Claudia has been part of RPKP for 4 years now and she enjoys the "family" feel of our place.... Claudia loves to incorporate lots of music, sensory explorations and playful learning invitations into her teaching. "If it hasn't been in the hand, it can't be in the brain" is one of her favourite quotes. Introducing our teachers: Meet teacher Taysha Taysha started working at RPKP in 2017. She is our ECA in the group care room, working with the 3-5 years old children. Besides working full time she is also in the process of getting her full ECE. Taysha loves working with young children, because every day is different.Her teaching incorporates a nature based, Reggio inspired approach. In her free time, Taysha likes to write, doing crafts and loves to travel. She is also committing one night a week to leading a Girl Guides group.

Introducing our teachers: Meet teacher Yuri, who was born in Japan and came to Canada in 2007. She earned her ECE certificate in 2011 and started working for RPKP in 2012. Yuri works with the 3-5 years old children in our group care. Coming September she will also be our new preschool teacher for the 3 year old program. Yuri likes how different Canadian education is from the Japanese education. She loves to see the children grow and improve their skills under her care. Introducing our teachers: Meet teacher Kim, who is working in the group care room with our 3 to 5 years old children. Kim came from Korea to Canada in 2017 and has worked for RPKP ever since. She earned her teacher degree in Korea and also has her full ECE licence. Kim loves to see how the children in her care develop new skills and find their unique strengths and abilities.... ROAR! We are digging dinosaurs this month at Ranch Park Kids Place. I have yet to meet a child who isnt interested in dinosaurs. By the way, registration is open and ongoing for 2020/2021 for our 3 and 4 years old preschool and daycare program. So much learning is happening with this simple contraption: Problem solving, teamwork, language skills, size evaluation, making predictions - just to name a few- and so much FUN!

We found some arctic animals trapped in ice . Of course our little scientists rescued them by melting the ice with salt and warm water (No animals were harmed in this experiment )

We are hiring!!! Looking for outgoing and energetic individuals to work in our before and after school care program. Must be at least 19 years of age and be available Tuesdays , Wednesdays and Thursdays 2:30-6. We are also looking to fill a contract position as a support worker .
