It’s been a very special, eventful week! On June 15th our amazing hygienist Sonja had our Randa baby. Ophelia Annie, 4lbs 10 ounces, 18 . She came early but she’s healthy. Congratulations Sonja and Aaron!! If that wasn’t more than enough, it’s Sonja’s Birthday today! Happy Birthday new mommy!

We hope everyone is keeping healthy and safe during these challenging times. As a community we need to stay strong and do our part in staying home to help reduce the spike in spreading COVID-19 across the province. It’s just the matter of time, but we will get through this together! We want to give a huge shout out to all our nurses, doctors, EMT’s, teachers, cleaning crews, grocery & restaurant workers, truck drivers, pharmacists, stockers and everyone else working nonstop t...o keep us all safe. Each & every one of you is recognized, and we want to thank you for your service. We wanted to give our patients an update as it comes available to keep everyone informed. As some of you are aware there was a case of the COVID-19 at the Dental Conference held in Vancouver BC. We want to let our patient know that we had one of our staff members attend this conference and that she has self isolated herself for recommended 14 days. She is doing well and shows absolutely no signs or symptoms of the coronavirus. As a matter of fact, each and everyone of our staff member is taking their part in self-isolation, and all are keeping well. As you know on March 17th the Alberta Dental Association and College announced a mandatory stoppage of all nonemergency dental treatment. The intent of this is to facilitate social distancing and help prevent people from contracting the COVID-19 virus. After much deliberation and considering the ADA’s current recommendation for dentists, we have made the difficult decision to limit our services to urgent care only until it is safe to return to full dental care. In alignment with our mission and values, it is of upmost importance to ensure the health of our patients going forward by limiting face to face interactions as much as possible. We are currently postponing all routine care so we can continue to serve patients with urgent needs, thereby ensuring the safety for both you and your families, as well as our staff. This past weekend we celebrated our hygienist Sonja and her husband Aaron and hosted a small outdoor baby shower! Sonja is due in July with their first and our first R&A team baby lovingly nicknamed Baby RANDA It was a precious day catching up with Sonja and Aaron as she will not be returning to work due to Covid until after her maternity leave. As of March 17th 2020, R&A Dentistry will temporarily be closed until further notice. Our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff and our community. In this unprecedented time, we are deeply committed to keeping everyone safe. We have just got an urgent message from Alberta Dental Association that: Effective immediately, there is a mandatory suspension of all non-emergency dental treatment and services. The decision has been made for us ...and we must comply with our licensing body. Unfortunately if you have an upcoming appointment scheduled with us, please consider it to be cancelled until further notice. If you are experiencing a dental emergency (oral-facial trauma, chipped or broken teeth, infection, swelling, prolonged bleeding or acute pain which cannot be managed by over-the-counter medication) please contact Dr. Ania Mamaisheva & Dr. Rustam Mamiashev immediately at 587-439-6034 or 587-435-5869. They will be on call 24/7 to answer any questions. In honour of International Women’s day this past Sunday we wanted to reach out to all of our patients, specifically our incredible women, to wish you all the best for 2020! We have a very female dominated practice which we take pride in working together on a daily basis. We feel very lucky to have such strong women in our lives both at work and at home and we hope you do too! Continuing on the celebration of women we would like to announce to you some wonderful news within ou...r practice, some of you may already know. Sonja our hygienist for the last 5 years, and her husband Aaron are expecting their first baby in July 2020! For those of you who see Sonja you will understand that after adding two Great Danes to their family a baby was a natural progression. We would like to encourage those patients who wish to see her before she leaves us for maternity leave to book in with her soon as she will likely wrap up seeing patients by the middle of June. We also wanted to let you, as our valued patients, know that we are actively seeking her replacement and we ensure that they will be up to the same caliber with the gentle care that Sonja brings to our practice. We promise to keep you all up to date and informed on Baby RandA !!! At R&A we truly value and enjoy families, we love being able to watch your kids grow up right before our eyes. With that being said our dental family wants to encourage you to take part in Sonja’s excitement.
