Randsland Farms mindful moment for the day

Thankful for 3 things today 1- the beautiful weather that has allowed us to start this years broccoli plants 2- our Jamaican friends leaving their loved ones at home to work with us having just finished their 2 week quarantine yesterday ... 3- our dedicated 20 or so local team members (yes some of them are related) that have helped to keep this ship sailing while labour uncertainty loomed

Seed to Shelf - Week 4! Day 28 - Look at those plants GROW! The greenhouse doors now remain open when its beautiful out like today. The plants are acclimatizing in preparation for planting within the next few weeks. ... With school being closed, the children are quite often with us checking greenhouses, asking for snacks during food safety conference calls, and asking us all the questions about things they hear along the way. Last week we let them lead their learning, so naturally they went to insects and plants and how important our environment is. We learned about soil, life cycles of various insects, and entomology. Our youngest daughter, has taken a keen interest in not only the baby broccoli but also the insects. Wouldn’t Bruce & Mary love having their very own on-farm entomologist?
