From Historic Edmonton Group February 15, 1909 Norwood School On this day Edmonton's history, one of the finest brick schools built in this era officially op...ens to 400 pupils. Designed by Architect, Roland W. Lines, the school cost upwards of $60K. At the time it was claimed to be "...the best equipped, largest and most modern of the up-to-date schools which Edmonton now possesses." It still stands today at 9520-111 Ave. Lines is also credited for the design of the Union Bank, Canada Permanent Building and the Strathcona High School; all of which still stand today. a021242 (1913)
