A big CONGRATS to our Open Custody Facility staff who won 1stplace in our annual Ray of Hope Christmas Competition. Each Christmas season our Ray of Hope programs are invited to gather much-needed food items and make a creative display out of them. After a winner is determined, all these items are donated to the Marketplace. #WinWin
Big SHOUT OUT to our friends at IS2 Workforce Solutions for the generous donation to the Community Centre. #StrongerTogether #WorkingTogether
Keep Calm and (virtually) Walk On Today we joined 50+ other Coldest Night partners from across Canada by choosing to transition our blended event (in-person + virtual) into 100% Virtual. https://cnoy.org/location/kitchenerwaterloo... This news may be disappointing to some, but the growing risks and restrictions of having any in-person portion of the event are just too great. And it should be noted that "100% virtual" is not synonymous with not walking. It simply means your mission, if you chose to accept it, is to walk your chosen 2-5 KM route in the safety and snuggly-warmth of your bubble.

Kitchener Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the motion to tackle affordable housing and homelessness in the city! The 'Housing For All' strategy lays out seven priorities as part of its plan, including a human rights-based approach to housing, and creating a working group of people with lived experience of homelessness and housing challenges.
This past Monday (Nov. 16), the Ray of Hope Community Centre changed the hours they are open from 9 AM 9 PM. This increase allows for daytime drop-in and new program opportunities for our guests. Dinner will still be served at 7 PM and the Marketplace will continue to be open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.
We are proud of the hard work that Suzi Gursoy and the KW Homeless Memorial committee put in to make this memorial a reality.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. We will remember them.
We are excited to let everyone know that the 2nd Annual Pasta Night is SOLD OUT!
Don't forget to "fall back" this weekend. Sunday morning at 2 AM to be exact... #daylightsavings
