Although we're eager to re-open and treat patients as per the Ministry of Health's recently announced clearance for dental hygienists to proceed, like many offices we still require a little more time to re-tool the schedule and office layout to respect social distancing. Patient and staff safety is of utmost importance and adhering to social distancing rules is still a high priority. We will ask any patients with a fever, cough or difficulty breathing, or probable contact to COVID positive patients to reschedule appointments. A wellness check will be performed on all patients and staff prior to entering the office. If you have a scheduled appointment already, we will be cancelling a few more weeks to be able to prepare, we will do our best to email you or phone you to cancel. For those booked in later June and beyond, we will be contacting you to discuss possible changes to adhere to social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Update April 6, 2020 In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, our office is heeding the recommendation of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons and the Ontario Government restricting our current operations to emergency treatment only. This means we will be postponing non-essential, non-emergency treatment until the College makes further recommendations. This includes all fillings, extractions, any treatment to be done by Dr. Ordinario and recall/checkup appointments. We are cont...inuing to try to reach each and everyone of you by email or by phone. Once we know that we can re-open, we will call you to reschedule. Should a dental emergency arise (i.e. swelling, severe pain, trauma) current patients can contact Dr. Ordinario at 905-650-9445 for screening and initial assessment and then an appointment as needed for treatment. Please be advised that this has nothing to do with the COVID-19 outbreak. However, we are taking extra precautions. Once we return to work, we will be screening patients by phone prior to their appointments. We will ask you to reschedule your appointment for the following rea...sons: 1. If you have a new cough, fever or shortness of breath 2. If you have travelled outside of the country within the last 14 days, or have been in close contact with someone else who has travelled outside of the country in the last 14 days. 3. If you have been in close contact with someone or are caring for someone who has a suspected case or a confirmed case of COVID-19. However, if there is an emergency that cannot wait such as trauma, pain or swelling and you have answered yes to any of the above questions, we will make necessary arrangements to treat your emergency in a quarantined area and time.
