Avocado toast with eggs for breakfast? Yes that's right! Insulin resistance (pre-diabetes, and blood sugar imbalance) requires a unique balance of whole foods. Often opposite of what the diet culture has "taught us".... To feeling nourished and satisfied with the conditions or predispositions I mentioned, here is the formula for what I call "The Magic Plate". What is Insulin Resistance? In short, the condition exists when your body's cells have grown resistance to the effects of insulin. This means that glucose cannot enter the cells instead remain in the bloodstream, causing high blood sugar levels. With nowhere to go, this encourages the body to store the glucose as body fat. Insulin resistance symptoms often include difficulties concentrating, depression or mood swings, increased blood pressure, intense hunger, internal bloatin...g, or low energy. Most, but not all, have experienced weight gain and have had difficulty losing weight. Multiply this over every meal and every day, over time unwanted weight continues to increase, and so does the body size. The diet culture doesn't consider insulin resistance when prescribing a standard fad diet plan.
