Retail experience. Is it valuable? Absolutely! I am so proud of my daughter Bailey who has been working at Bath & Body Works outlet collection wpg has the past few months while finishing up grade 12 Why is retail experience important?... > an actual conversation I had today with bailey and some of her coworkers It helps you develop social interaction skills which your company’s guests. I say guests as you need to have that mindset. Yes you can also consider them as customers as you hope to make a sale but if you think of them as a guest you move from sale to hyper focused on their needs to ask the right questions and lead them to a product or service solution you may have. This creates an experience where you have clients return time and time again. As I enter stores I look for employee engagement with their guests. Are they authentically smiling? Are they warm and approachable. Do they say welcome or hi as you move past them even if not directly working with you. Other retail skills you develop - how to ask the right discovery questions. What gets me geeked out at community events such as the last Chinese New Year celebration I attended Saturday evening? 1. Enjoying the great company of RBC employees and guests at our table. 2. Engaging many community members through introductions and hearing about the positive impression RBC has with that community. ... 3. When employees from other Financial institutions proactively reach out to connect with me about introductions or opportunities; they know me via reputation or my LinkedIn posts. I met 1st to 4th Year students from Red River College University of Manitoba The University of Winnipeg and speak about my career journey and potential pathways to an accredited RBC Financial Planner. Thurs- a lunch and learn with 4th year UofM Dental students partnering with RBC health care specialists. ... Friday - The 4th Manitoba Chinese Business Gala where RBC was a proud Sponsor once again.
