It's that time of year again. Get your dues paid for your chance to win your 2022 dues.

Starting this Friday, September 11th our meat draws are back. They will look a little different, instead of meat we will have gift cards from all over the place. Only 50 people will be allowed in, all tables and chairs have been spaced out for social distancing. Please remember you mask and come on out and support the branch.

Today Chief Paul VandeGraaf and Special Constable Smith of the Cobourg Police Service handed off a piece of history to Cobourg Legion Branch 133 President Bob R...obison. A scrapbook containing memorabilia dating back to World War II was turned in to the Cobourg Police Service on July 2. A potential family heirloom, this scrapbook includes pictures, news articles, and personal artifacts. The Cobourg Legion has accepted the scrapbook to be store and preserve. Today, on the 76th anniversary of D-Day, we Remember the more than 14,000 Canadian troops who landed on Juno Beach and fought their way inland. On that day alon...e, 340 Canadian lives were lost and 574 were wounded. Against difficult odds, the Canadians advanced against the best troops the enemy had. Victory in the Normandy campaign, however, would come at a terrible cost. The Canadians suffered the most casualties of any division in the British Army Group. It's going to be a super Sunday at the legion for our Superbowl party. Giant Screen, food and drink specials, contests, and great prizes. Come early for good seats!
