Hooray!! After consultation with AHS and AGLC, we have been advised that we are allowed to do meat draws, Nevada tickets and 50/50 draws as long as we follow all AHS heath protocols.

With the relaxation of some of the AHS restrictions, we are very happy to announce we will be reopening this Friday - February 12, 2021. We will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. We are not allowed to have meat draws, 50/50 draws or sell Nevada tickets. We will be adhering to very strict AHS guidelines and would ask that all members follow the rules as posted. 1. Masks must be on at all times you are on the floor. They may be removed when you have ...sat down at your table. 2. Tables will be set up for a maximum of four (4) people. 3. To sit together, you must be from the same household. 4. We will have a sign in book by the pool tables and all persons must sign in with their full name and telephone number for contract tracing. 5. There will be no moving of tables or chairs. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces on Friday.

May we never forget Lieutenant Andrew Richard Nuttall who sacrificed his life eleven years ago today while proudly serving our county in Afghanistan. On Decembe...r 23rd, 2009, Lt. Nuttall, a member of 1st Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, based in Edmonton, was killed by an improvised explosive device while on a routine foot patrol in the town of Nakhoney, located in the Panjwaii district of southern Kandahar. Lt. Nuttall, who'd been living near Nakhoney for the past month and passed through the village almost daily, would become Canada's 134th soldier to be killed during Canada's mission in Afghanistan. Lt. Andrew Richard Nuttall, 30, is survived by his mother, Jane and father Richard Nuttall, and his brother John. Andrew, "Andy, Drew, or Nutts," was born in Prince Rupert, BC. He lived in Yellowknife, NWT where he joined the air cadets, and attended high school in Regina, SK. After studying engineering at the University of Victoria, he worked at various jobs in the computer industry and also at Crossfit Vancouver as a trainer. He enlisted in the military in 2006. He was respected by his colleagues for his leadership and generous, enthusiastic nature. Friends remember him as a happy man who wanted to help people of Afghanistan. He was also an avid athlete who especially enjoyed cold-water surfing, snowboarding and hiking. Andrew’s family says he was characterized by an easy, selfless, outgoing, generous and loving personality. He was always ready to help his fellow man, debate world issues, and support family and friends. His desire to change the world for the better is apparent in his long-time contributions to Plan International Canada. It was also this desire that led him to enlist, and he took these values to Afghanistan. Nuttall began blogging after his arrival in Afghanistan. In a post on his website dated November 15th he wrote, "We've made huge leaps and bounds forward security and development wise. All of the locals respect what we bring to the table much more than the Taliban, even though it's in an Afghan's nature to always play both sides. I've found everything about it very rewarding as I can actually see the progress made toward a better future." He tried to sum up the situation for friends back home, "It feels as though NATO troops are caught 'in the middle' of the conflict. Complicated, yes. Confusing, only a bit. Frustrating, unfortunately too much," dated December 1st, 2009. "From the first day I met him, I knew Andrew was special," said Nuttall's commanding officer, Lt.-Col. Jerry Walsh. "There was nothing that could get him down," describing Nuttall as a cold-water surfer, a disc jockey, a teacher and a superb athlete. "He was everything Canadian. A young man possessed of great energy and enthusiasm for life, and so giving of everything he had to everyone else." "He wanted to lead from the front and set the example, attributes he passionately displayed every time he was in front of his platoon," - Brig.-Gen. Daniel Menard 'Greater love hath no man than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.' John 15:13 Lest we forget
