Meet Cpl. Rielly Knock. He's been an RCMP officer since 2007, with most of his service in Northern Saskatchewan. In 2016, he came out as a member of the transge...nder community. Since then, he's been helping the RCMP develop a more gender inclusive workplace. One of the ways he's doing this is by educating his colleagues across Canada on issues that are important to LGBTQ2S+ communities and why allyship is so important. "When you can take a concept and make it personal, people can understand it better. I'm trying to take some of the mystery and confusion out of the equation so that my colleagues can better work with members of the LGBTQ2S+ communities and hopefully work towards gaining back some of the trust that's been lost through misguided or outdated practices." Everyone plays a role in creating inclusive workplaces and community spaces; this is just one example of how we're working to modernize the RCMP. People like Cpl. Knock are helping us eliminate barriers and creating a police service more representative of the communities we serve.
