The month of November was family violence prevention month and in support The Social Work Student Society (SWSS) along with the help of our community members, was able to raise $616 in conjunction with an incredible amount of new items benefitting the Central Alberta Women's Emergency Shelter (CAWES). We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this fundraiser such a success in these exceptionally difficult times. Every dollar and item donated will benefit some of our most vulnerable people, and so from all of us at SWSS, thank you!

Today is #givingtuesday, SWSS is organizing a giving tree fundraiser, these beautiful handmade ornaments are available for sale. The proceeds are going to the Safe Harbour Society, which serves the homeless population in our region of Central Alberta, as well as our graduation. You can purchase these at the local Sobeys in Sylvan lake or private message us for orders. Thank you in advance for your support

Hello all! Our giving tree fundraiser is up and running thanks to the generosity of the Sylvan Lake Sobeys! Be sure to stop in and grab a beautiful handmade ornament while you are doing your shopping. We are requesting a $5 minimum donation for each handmade ornament and the proceeds will go towards the Safe Harbour Society, an amazing organization that supports the vulnerable homeless population in Red Deer, as well as our graduation. ... If you aren't able to stop into the Sylvan Lake Sobeys but would still like to purchase an ornament, please refer to the poster below and contact us through this Facebook page in order for us to help you give back to your community!
