This week our Minister of National Defence, the honourable Harjit Sajjan, shared his thoughts on Transgender Awareness Week November 13-19, "We celebrate Trans Canadians and acknowledge their struggles. Your voice, your rights, your identity matters. You are an integral part of the fabric of society. We will keep fighting with you for all Trans rights." It is important to highlight the acceptance of transgender individuals within our Canadian Forces. The Calgary MFRC is also... inclusive of military family members who are transgender and gender diverse. Transgender Awareness Week ends with Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th where we remember those who have lost their lives as a result of gender-based and transphobic violence. You can read last year's message from the Champion to the Defence Team on the significance of this day here: https://www.canada.ca//message-from-the-champion-to-the-de See more

Remembrance Day: Past, Present, and Future Today is Remembrance Day. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War1939 to 1945. Instead of revisiting all the battles of the Second World War, which has been covered by historians at length, we thought we’d take a look at how far our family life has evolved over the last 75 years and where we can expect to be 75 years in the future. You can read our blog to learn more about changes in communication, entertainment, shopping, and society as a whole. We also encourage you to take a moment to ponder what changes will occur over the next 75 years. https://www.cafconnection.ca//Ev/News/Remembrance-Day.aspx
