Hello RDW Families, As 2020 comes to a close, I’m sure everyone is thankful to see it in our rear view mirror. We would wish you all a Happy New Year but knowing that challenges will always lay before us, how about wishing everyone a more tolerable New Year. Life doesn’t get easier but we can become stronger, so however you find that strength, may you be blessed with an abundance of it. Even during your times of trials and tribulations, may you always find things to be tha...nkful for. Personally speaking, we are thankful for our faith in Jesus Christ, who is the reason for our celebrating Christmas. Our 2020 year has been full of unexpected heartache and challenges, but we are looking forward to changes, growth, and opportunities to make a positive difference even in the most unbearable of circumstances. In conclusion, we would like to say a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to everyone who has supported our family establishment, and those who have supported us personally. We know at the end of the day we are just a business and people move on in life, but for everyone who has walked through our doors, you have come to mean more to us than just being a client. Our brand new 3,000 sq/ft facility includes a 1,500 sq/ft training vinyl mat made up of 2 1/4" thick foam underlay to provide comfort and ease on joints while working out. Great for yoga instructors! We also have a 750 sq/ft weight room that is designed for personal training in mind. Simple but effective equipment to give one a full body workout. There is a large viewing area for waiting family members, as well as lots of free parking. Easy access to the NW and SW communities of Calgary with fast commute times because you are not dealing with city traffic and congestion. Will post photos within the coming weeks. Just a quick note to let everyone know how we're doing. Our 'online' classes are going great. Students are probably receiving more challenging workouts than ever before. We've had more kids assessed using Zoom and Facetime. Some kids are striving to actually test for a belt sometime over the spring/summer. Just over all very impressed with the eagerness and great attitude of all of our students and parents alike. We've especially enjoyed receiving videos and photos of a few ...of our students. Some were very fun to see such as training on a trampoline, to doing abdomen breathing in the shower. We most definitely needed the laughs and smiles! So thank you to our RDW families! We hope everyone continues to do well. If anyone is feeling exceptionally lonely or overwhelmed and you have no one to talk to or lean on, please drop us a line anytime. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SENSEI ROB! Not going to disclose his age, but by his response to his gift from his son (a bottle of IBC rootbeer, his all time favorite), he was like a kid on Christmas. With not being able to head south this year, he is sorely missing his favorite treat in the world (alongside Tillamook cheese and ice cream). And no, hes not that sunburnt. He was sitting under a giant red umbrella.

Since re-opening, classes have been running very smoothly! Kids and parents alike are happy to be back as some have reported that "its not the same trying to workout at home". Zoom classes are great, but.....its - not - the - same. Personal attention and interaction is needed for mental and emotional health. So Sensei Rob is doing his first ever, online (Zoom) Lil Tigers test. Going quite well! Kids are working hard and putting in a lot of effort. Had a guest appearance of Pet Monkey from one student, but it made Sensei Rob feel special.

Just had our first online personal training session with 3 gung-ho students! Strange to see Inst Rob on the floor in front of a laptop playing music and hollering instructions....but it worked! Everyone was sweaty, working hard and having fun.

Age is just a number. Exercise is for everyone.

Homeschoolers First Day of Flips! Loved how this guy didnt hesitate to try and flip over Inst Rob. Did fantastic on his first try!

Homeschoolers First Day! Moving on from rolls to doing assisted flips. Love it when kids want to try, even when they are nervous. More excited for them when they succeed.

First day for our homeschool group. Teaching them the concept of shoulder rolls a fun and easy way.

Congrats to the LIL TIGERS today! Youngest group of kids to test, and they proved themselves beyond our own expectations. Some excelled in the sparring/grappling category.... Youngest at age 5 to achieve a double stripe. Others learned about handling their disappointment with grace Another giving a PK a new vibe by turning it into a Saturday Night Fever pose. Always a good time, always so proud of the kids who come out and give it their all.

This is what sports should be all about. Yes, its great to win, but you have truly won more than an award when you realize that there are bigger things in life to conquer.

WE DID IT!! RDW is officially on the move to a brand new facility that will be owned by us!! Still located in the NW but easily accessible to the SW communities. More details coming soon. Right now both Robert and I would like to extend the biggest heartfelt thank you to those students who came to load us up and get us the heck out of dodge. It was a fantastic day for us on many levels. We had so many people offer to help that we actually turned a lot of people away. The... move went without a hitch. Our biggest cheerleader, Orlando, should have an honorary golden key to RDW simply because hes been ready to personally move us out for many, MANY years. Hes been our biggest champion. And we got to meet a new face! Pat, even though we didnt know you beforehand, we are truly thankful for your help and the opportunity to get to know you in between hauls. LOL. Awesome, awesome people. But most of all it was so incredible to see our community of families come together for us. It has been a stressful 2 years, and we still have a ways to go, but this day was nothing short of joyful. Orlando, you will be the first one to come and see the place, just so you know. Hope everyone has a fantastic summer!

Every life is precious. I had the privilege of working with a child once who had DS @ RDW (came in to do a class with his sister one time). It was truly the most joyful experience I have ever had. These kids/adults with DS EXUDE a type of joy and love that is truly indescribable....and unconditional.
