Welcome Back! We missed you! We are doing a soft open starting January 11th. All classes are LOW INTENSITY ( this doesn’t mean you won’t have a good muscle burn.... you will ) for those wanting to activate your monthly pass please let us know. If you DO NOT want to at this time as we don’t have the classes you are looking for. You can wait till the restrictions are lifted. Please wear a mask into the studio, sanitize you hands and sign the waiver. We are going to follow the protocols and guidelines as always. When we closed on March 16th we didn’t know what to expect. The uncertainty of what we were faced with was scary. In that 78 days our world as we new it would change forever. Going to the grocery store became scary, kids couldn’t play with friends or go to school, people started working from home, isolation Severed ties to our normal life’s as we new it. Not being able to see grandparents or hug the ones you love because they didn’t live in your home. You cant walk into a b...usiness with out sanitizing hands, signing a book and giving a phone number. The masks hide people’s emotions, people don’t smile as much but even if they did you cant see them. The body language of people has changed from relaxed to defensive. Keep distance, 6 meters, stand here, scared to cough, and the visits we have when we see people we know in the grocery store is unacceptable in some people’s eyes. Our whole world as we new it changed. We can go on and on the fact is it’s going to change even more as we move forward. I can a 100% say all of this has effected me mentally and physically. The environments i new and loved feel different. The people in those environments have changed. Business have suffered and some didn’t even make it back. So while I’ve been sitting and pondering my thoughts I’ve come to realize I still have lots I can control. I can be thankful my friends and family are safe and healthy, I have job I love, I have a home and food in my fridge. The one thing I have decided is I will not allow this new normal take anymore away from me. I had health and fitness goals that I’m not willing to give up on! I may not be able to control rules and regulations BUT I can control my reaction to them. I will workout, I’ll be there for my Fitfam, I will be happy when they come in, I’ll creat a space they can feel safe in, I’ll meet them at the door and let them know we missed them. I will remind them of why they started. When you started your fitness journey you had goals to Crush. Those goals are still achievable! Don’t give up on them! You need exercise for your mind and body. It makes life manageable! You don’t need to be in a gym or studio if your not comfortable but that doesn’t mean you give up! Take that power back! Make a new plan, new routine! It’s only hard until it becomes a habit! Don’t give up so that you can start from scratch! Take the change and make it a challenge your willing to push through! So to those who have lost there way you can do this! We can do this! We have to get uncomfortable in order to get comfortable. See more

Christopher came to see me with difficulty squatting deep with his toes forward (sensing a blocked sensation in both hips) and noted his toes constantly spun ou...t to the side. However, when I asked him to turn his toes out to the side slightly he could squat much deeper and felt less blocked in his hips. Here’s why. . When I assessed his hip rotation in a seated position, he had limited internal rotation and excessive external rotation on both sides. He also had limited hip internal rotation and excessive external rotation when lying on his stomach. This pattern in both positions is significant of retroversion meaning his hip joint is aligned more to the side than most people. . This means that while MOST people have anatomy that allow for a very slight toe out position during a squat, his body is naturally aligned anatomically to have a slight toe out position. Now we need to also talk about how his hip anatomy, particularly the depth of his hip sockets could potentially limit how deep he could squat. . During our treatment we then worked on ankle mobility and hip internal rotation with banded joint mobilizations and then after discussing how to create external rotation torque at the hips and create a stable foot we ended up with a much more optimal squat for his anatomy. . Exciting news!! I am offering a supportive online prenatal yoga series It will take place on Facebook, in a private and secret group. Classes wil...l be weekly and will be about an hour long, done on Facebook Live. Live allows you to do the class in real time, or it will save on the page and you can do it when it is convenient for you. The group will also include resources about pelvic floor physio during pregnancy and post partum - and of course the support and connection of the other ladies in the group.
