Thursday in our RFS 3’s room we had a day all about Music and Movement. We did lots of exercising, dancing to music and made our own music shakers.

It was a very short week this week with the Ready for school 4’s (B group) Wednesday- Our class worked on letter O. The children learned that one of Ms. Laura’s favourite Animals starts with O and they guessed an Owl, as well learned some cool facts about them! We focused on learning the sound of O and practiced writing them and ended our day with an amazing Owl craft using shredded brown construction paper then added eyes and a beak! Friday- SLIDING DAY! We made Our favourit...e snow man Olaf using Marshmellows, orange jelly beans, raisins and pretzel sticks. They enjoyed piecing them together and the best part eating them! We then spent the rest of our morning using our bodies to get up the hill, learning how to stabilize our sleds and getting down the hill. Jumping off pretening they were on cliffs really get our hearts beating and I noted one of our children’s perspectives from being at the top of the hill. There is no Ready for school 3 classes Today due to all Schools in the Anglophone West School District being closed due to forecasted weather. All day children can still attend. Every one please stay safe today !

We had a week full of LOVE in our All day 3’s room! We made lots of Valentine related crafts and also did an experiment with heart candies. The children exchanged kind words about one another and made a rainbow out of them. They made friendship necklaces and bracelets. A few even made one for their pet. They also helped make chocolate chip cookies and they tasted amazing. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We had a fun filled week in our 3 year old room. So much excitement and smiles. Lots of Christmas cheer. We wish everyone Happy Holidays and a safe and happy New Year!

Run, run as fast as you can! Unfortunately for the Gingerbread Man, the children were fast enough to catch up! We were sent on a Gingerbread Hunt and had to follow clues. At the end, there was a special surprise waiting for us- a gingerbread house!

Last week in our 3 year old room, we spent a lot of time talking about the meaning Christmas and the importance of giving. The kids gave to one another and made lots Christmas surprises for their parents. We spent a lot of time working together to create a Christmas themed door. The kids also made some special reindeer food.

This week in our Ready for School class, we introduced the letter F. The sound it makes and the words beginning with the letter F. The kids had fun turning their letter F into a frog. We spent the day talking about Furry Friends, they enjoyed sharing their stuffed animals and their real life pets through pictures. We also did a cut and paste activity categorizing animals that are furry and animals that are not furry. We had a Fun and Fantastic week.

In our All Day 3’s room, at the first of the week we focused on the meaning of Remembrance Day and the second half, we participated in the Diwali celebration. We made festive crafts and Miss Aartie gave Henna Tattoos. Thanks again to Miss Artie for sharing this festival with us, the kids really enjoyed it!

This week in our Ready for School 3’s class, we focused on the meaning of Remembrance Day and Diwali Celebration. This kids enjoyed all of the hands on crafts and leaning about another festival from another culture.

Last week was all about Opposites in our All Day 3’s room. Up/Down, In/Out, Happy/Sad, Over/Under, and Soft/Rough. The girls had a blast colouring under the table and fishing, taking the fish in and out of the water.

The center is closed today Novemeber 11th for Remebrance Day .

The all day children got a special treat today they watched the centre’s contractor dig a BIG long trench to have lines run for power in our forest school hut! Even helping out a bit in the top spot. Happy Mondays! Thank you Evan Flynn and Ground Control Property Management.

This week in our Ready for School room, we introduced the letter E. The sound that letter E makes and the words the begin with letter E. We watched Elmer the Elephant video and made patch work elephants out of the letter E. We also had a day full of fun science experiments. We did a sink or float experiment, Magic Milk, dancing rice and a colour explosion experiment with skittles. The kids we so amazed.
