3 more crates built over the weekend, on their way out the door this morning. Also included in today's service will be a cuckoo clock. Getting the paperwork ready for this included a lesson on the English language for the young ones here at home. Yes, the two syllables sound the same. No, they are not spelled the same. Did you know the original German word for a cuckoo clock is Kuckucksuhren? I do now

And they're ready to go! Crates for: 4 paintings 1 marble table top... Plus removing 2 tvs from wall mounts and a chandelier ! We can do it all!

Starting crate number one of . . . many (swipe to see what i mean) Pretty sure all those moves that DIDN'T happen in March, April and May have been booked for the last two weeks of August! Any other #professionalmovers feeling the same? I know local #realestate numbers are reflecting what we're seeing as a third party service provider. ... We're here for all the #crating, #uncrating and #handyman work that needs to get done this August month end!

After a long (LONG ) social media break, sharing a glimpse of our Friday night work session. Yup, that's our #hondaodyssey lol. Our business has shifted a lot over the past year. In some ways, this was planned (yay! ) and in others not so much planned as hmm . . . managed as best we can (ahem, looking at you ). Wow. What a summer. It's been a while since a post hit social media from @readymoveltd . We've been busy with the summer moving season, adventuring with our family and doing a huge overhaul of our back deck. We pulled out an old hot tub that hadn't worked since we moved in (11 years ago ) with help from @integrityjunkremoval , replaced the surface boards, removed the old vinyl from the upper deck and sanded and stained the whole thing. It was a lot of work during what is a really intense time of year for us. But so totally worth it. Now my favorite place to work with the morning sun peeking through the leaves of the surrounding trees, or in the evenings with a citronella candle from @rusticacustomfinishes . What was your favorite thing from this summer?

How did no one guess that we were crating a giant marble owl??? This gorgeous piece of art is approximately 400lbs and was safely lowered from its perch on the fireplace mantel, crated and secured for transport. Having the right equipment to keep everyone working on this safe and injury free and protect the floor tile and fireplace was critical to successfully completing this piece!

What a lovely place for a new home for an equally lovely family Swipe to check out a few photos of the load. Also a pretty nice view IMHO No gaps in the load means no movement and no breakage AND room for more stuff in a smaller truck which sure matters on those ferry crossings !

Phew, what a busy few weeks it's been! I'm glad to finally have a chance at the end of this Father's Day to put together something to celebrate all the dads out there. Remember when we built a massive crate for a baby grand piano? Here is the piano loaded into the crate before the top was placed. For reference, grand pianos are moved on their sides so you're seeing the profile from the top down here. Cross braces, padded, wrapped and edge protection in place. Another feature of this particular crate is the lumber itself. Did you know international shipments have very specific requirements for any lumber included? This piece had to meet exp...ort regulations as well as providing protection for the piano in transit. Swipe over for one final look at the forklift takes the crated piano away . . .

Taking a big piece or furniture up or down stairs, over steps and curbs, with our being able to see your feet is a part of the job.

Did you know movers work in pounds, even in Canada? It takes a lot of skill and experience but a good estimator can walk through a home and determine the number of pounds the contents will add up to. Make sure your estimator is aware of any additional storage areas like crawl spaces, sheds, or storage lockers so they can be included in the total. #readymoveltd #professionalmover
