The door is always open when I am home. Coffee can be on in minutes and the dining room table can be cleared in a moment - it is a place of peace and non-judgment. Anyone who needs to chat is welcome anytime. Never suffer in silence. I have food in the fridge, coffee and tea in the cupboard, listening ears, shoulders to cry on and love & thoughts to share. You cannot eat off my floors as they are not always clean, but I will set a plate on my table with something I hope you like. This is an old value that is sometimes lost to technology. A text, face-time, or emoji is not the equivalent of making time for those we love or care about. But what does it do for your body? Technically speaking laughter is a release of tension, much like sneezing or orgasm. Comics know this well. Laughter: Laughter Activates the Immune System "In Berk's study, the physiological response produced by belly laughter was opposite of what is seen in classical stress, supporting the conclusion that mirthful laughter is a eustress state -- a state that produces healthy or positive emotions. Research results indicate that, after exposure to humor, there is a general increase in activity within the immune system, including: * An increase in the number and activity level of natural killer cells that attack viral infected cells and some types of cancer and tumor cells. * An increase in activated T cells (T lymphocytes). Norman Cousins Laughed His Way Back to Health and Life Norman Cousins was given a few months to live in 1964. He had Ankylosing Spondylitis, a rare disease of the connective tissues.
