We posted last week about how exercise is a brain-building activity even more than it is a body-building activity. This research shows that it is also a brain-cleaning activity. Researchers want to create a drug that can emulate the brain cleaning effects of exercise for the treatment of Alzheimer's. This will be a wonderful advancement for those who cannot exercise but for those of us lucky enough to have the option it is one of the best things we can do for our brai...n health as we age. . . https://www.scientificamerican.com//how-exercise-might-cl/ #brainhealth #alzheimers #health #aging #aginginplace #moveitorloseit

Breakthrough research around Alzheimer's disease and it's relationship to gut bacteria. "This discovery paves the way for potentially highly innovative protective strategies - through the administration of a bacterial cocktail, for example, or of pre-biotics to feed the good bacteria in our intestine. However, we shouldn't be too quick to rejoice, says Frisoni. Indeed, we must first identify the strains of the cocktail. Then, a neuroprotective effect could only be effective at a very early stage of the disease, with a view to prevention rather than therapy." https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_re/2020-11/udg-lba111320.php

Some non-essential businesses will be reopened including retail businesses, therapeutic health services, salons, museums, galleries, libraries, campgrounds and restaurants for patio or walk-up services only. Outdoor recreation is also allowed. Phase two is expected to begin June 1 and will expand the size of public gatherings and reopen restaurants for dine-in services. Can I travel?: No, Manitobans are being urged to avoid all non-essential travel outside of the province. People entering from another country, province or territory must self-isolate for 14 days.
