One of my goals for 2021 is to expand and extend my video content production - in front of the camera, not behind. Back in 2013-2015, I hosted an online show on Youtube for a popular video game and its out-of-game news network. It was through that work I earned my experience and my start with video production and thus eventually leading to James Reinelt and I starting Murky Productions. For years we produced local content for small businesses and non-profits, and it all cul...minated in several successful series including "52 things to do in...", which you can find at BScene & Explore Waterloo Region, as well as Marquee with Martin, The Closet Door, and Whimsical Players promotional videos. This led to Murky becoming an events promoter and organizer bringing Art Battle to Brantford, all-the-while working with The Crew / Real Estate to host blood drives, talent shows, tree plantings, New Year's Eve parties, movies and music in the park etc. Fast forward to 2018: I'm in college for my Real Estate licence, working as Ryan Campbell's Brand Ambassador, and serving as a Board member of the Downtown Brantford BIA. At this point, I am doing double duty in front of and behind the camera promoting anything and everything to do with Brantford/Brant. Dozens of video projects resulted from this time. End of 2018, I graduate from OREA as a REALTOR and The Crew officially joined Redline Properties Inc. I am now regularly on camera thanks to media partners like Brant One News, and Patti Berardi, Dave Carrol, Ben Strasser over at Rogers TV, Channel 20 through this I have become accustomed to doing interviews on popular topics of the times. As part of my commitment to my clients, I pride myself on my listing videos. I've done well over a hundred in the last four years, but I have also done interviews, hundreds of Instagram stories, spotlight videos, and more. This all leads to having thousands of hours of on-camera content and experience. In 2020, our crew grew exponentially and we met and added Matthew Fotheringham from Venture Media. It took our video game to a whole new level. Every member of our team is straight up crushing video content creation and nearly everything we are doing or will do is going to be documented as a part of the rerelease of CrewTV. Now amplify that by the pandemic hitting, and nearly everything going virtual. 2020 and Covid-19 have led to a fundamental shift in the way we do business. Never before has it been easier to connect with one another. Fast forward to 2021. Here we are the 3rd of January and I intend to bump it up a notch - max power. Story time with Josh: I have made it my 2021 endeavour to try to do more cooking at home -versus ordering take-out all the time. More on that in future posts! In my exploration and reorganizing of our kitchen I discovered we didn't have a sugar jar. Now, there are maybe a million places you could buy a jar for your kitchen, but my first thought was to message my friend Judy to see what she had in stock. ... Judy is a Master Potter you see and we are blessed to have much of her pottery adorning our home. Thankfully she had just thing, and with a quick Facebook message, a few photos back and forth, an etransfer and a social distance porch pickup, I know have the most lovely of sugar jars for my kitchen. I am so thankful know such a talented potter! If you're looking for something truly unique for your home or that special gift for someone you love you should give Judy a call! Now to get to cooking!

Who's up for a social media challenge? It's all about engagement. Do you know how valuable your words are to a local business? ... Let me let you in on a secret. When you comment on a post we call that engagement! [I know, it's not exactly rocket science...] AND it's even more powerful when the poster engages back. [NUDGE NUDGE, engage with those who engage with you] I don't claim to be a social media guru or anything, but TRUST ME, something magical happens when you COMMENT on a post. It will ALWAYS show up on more people's feeds. It will ALWAYS get more traction, and ultimately, MORE PEOPLE WILL SEE IT. That is exactly what a local business needs right now - VISIBILITY Besides actually spending your hard earned money supporting them, this may be the MOST VALUABLE thing you could do to show support during this trying time. I'm willing to bet you dollars to donuts that if you comment on this post it will continue to grow substantially and reach so many more followers then if you simply reacted to it -or even if you shared it... So, that's my social media challenge to you.
