Mayor Kristal Chopp has stripped Deputy Mayor Amy Martin of her title and has appointed Chris Van Paassen as Norfolk County’s new Deputy Mayor. The move comes following an attempt from Martin to add Council Relations as a discussion item. Chopp had said that she would not be adding it to the agenda.... But, it was later added, following a vote. After this, Chopp announced that she would not continue to participate in this ongoing witch hunt with Council. After appointing Van Paassen as the new Deputy Mayor, Chopp abruptly left the meeting. The full interaction can be heard below.
