Average selling price has never been higher, says Canadian Real Estate Association. Cold weather did little to chill out Canada's red-hot housing market in January, with new data Tuesday showing average house prices have increased by 21 per cent in the past year to $748,450 the highest on record.

Vancouverites can be forgiven if 2020 seemed a little familiar. The Vancouver real estate market closed the year looking very much like it did three to five years ago, as the latest statistics from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) showed December home sales in the metro region shot up 53.4% year-over-year to 3,093, and grew marginally by 0.9% from 3,064 a month earlier.
