Very honoured - and surprised - to receive this award today! Thank you to our Chamber of Commerce for the Business Excellence Award: Charles J. Carter Lifetime Business Achievement Award. Mr. Carter would often say No man is an island, believing that he enjoyed success in his career in part because he had the good fortune to have known and been supported by so many giving and talented people. He believed that giving back to the community was both a right and an obligation. The Charles J. Carter Award is given from time to time to a Member or Past Member of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce to recognize high standards of excellence in business, community service, and/or volunteer work done within the Chamber.

Cadets for youth aged 12-18 - no cost to join. If you have, or you care for, a child or children, or know a relative, youth, friend(s) of the family who may be interested in joining the Cadets program, please share this post & help spread the word. Cadets is open to all Canadian youth aged 12-18 with no cost to join.

If you need information about garbage tags/disposal: At this time, residents can purchase item tags for garbage by the following: City Hall between 10am-2pm (Monday-Friday) or Solid Waste and Recycling Facility (landfill site) between 8am-6pm ( Monday Friday) and 8-4pm (Saturday) Over the phone - Starting today, residents can now purchase tags over the phone by calling 625-2266 during the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm (Monday-Friday). Payment will be by credit card only and tags will be mailed out. The Solid Waste and Recycling Facility (landfill site) is still open and operating under normal hours at this point. We are monitoring and evaluating the situation daily for all the waste management services we deliver.
